We provide design, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced electronic warfare components and subsystems using cutting edge wideband radio frequency and photonic technology. We are a company on the move and with forecasted growth of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia we are now seeking to hire a Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing application software and participate in the entire software development life cycle.
Candidates are required to have a good knowledge base of engineering principles, theories and techniques and a passion for relevant new technologies. We are mission focused, agile and take innovation seriously.
Responsibilities
- Develop modular, readable and robust code for defence systems adhering to security and functional requirements in Python and Typescript/React.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification.
- Presenting design details during customer reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with both software and other engineering disciplines as well as management, to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements as efficiently as possible.
- Write and maintain both internal and deliverable documentation, either directly or through supervision of contractors.
- Provide Engineering support to manufacturing as required.
- Participate in demo activities for the purpose of sharing knowledge.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role and to best leverage the opportunities provided by L3Harris, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
- Experience developing in python.
- Experience designing and implementing front end software using Typescript or Javascript, and React.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adhering to development processes.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with python for emulation.
- Experience with python for complex applications.
- Experience with python for system verification scripting.
