Australian banknotes don’t last forever; they get worn as they are used. When they start to show their age, they are taken out of circulation and destroyed to be recycled into other plastic products.
This role is responsible for processing and destroying worn banknotes in the highly operational and automated environment.
Your day to day:
- Work in a fast-paced and is highly procedurally driven environment
- Ensuring that the processing, assessment, verification, destruction, storage and the control arrangements of banknotes are undertaken efficiently, in accordance with procedures and with minimal safety and security risk
- Manually counting banknotes
- Operating high speed banknote processing equipment
- Using manual handling equipment
- Interacting with automation systems
- Providing operational and administrative support; testing systems; and maintaining registers
- Supporting a continuous improvement culture by identifying, proposing and/or executing efficiency enhancements to existing processes
- Cash handling or reconciliation experience
- Experience working in a fast paced, process driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available to start late late January/beginning of February 2024
- Solid understanding of WHS
- Manual handling experience is desired but not essential
