We are seeking a switched-on individual, who enjoys working with numbers. You will be an experienced Banking Officer / Bookkeeper to join our Banking Team full time and manage the daily banking and account reconciliations of all our Online/Digital bank accounts.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Banking Team Leader, the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Importing daily Digital bank accounts into AP21 (General Ledger system)
- Reconciling bank account entries to General Ledger entries and investigating any variances between the two
- Ensuring unreconciled entries are not aged and following up these entries with Customer Service, IT Department and Banking Institutes
- Monthly meetings with the Banking Team Lead and Head of Accounting to explain and action any aged unreconciled entries
- Preparing the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for all Digital bank accounts for the Financial Accounting team
- Developing a process flow and set of rules for the Digital banking process to be signed off by the Head of Group Accounting
- Assisting Loss Prevention on ad-hoc requests and reporting (i.e. reporting on chargebacks)
- New store set-ups (including Float delivery, EFTPOS machine)
To be successful you will have:
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working on complex Bank Reconciliations
- Previous accounts and reconciliation experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with Excel spreadsheets & accounting software
- Retail experience is highly desirable
- Exceptional organisational skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires high attention to detail and a “hands on approach”
- Analytically minded and strong data manipulation skills
- Show a pro-active and “can-do” attitude to all tasks
