About the roleDrawing on your in-depth knowledge of market trends, wines and spirits, you will be at the forefront of driving a diverse beverage experience that will perfectly compliment the culinary delights on offer. You will often be front of house with the team recommending food and beverage pairings and having impact on creating a unique and memorable guest journey.A little taste of your day-to-dayResponsible for developing and implementing training programs, SOPs, and induction manuals to enhance food and beverage team engagement. The role involves setting performance and development goals, mentoring, and providing regular feedback to team members. You will manage daily staffing requirements, ensure compliance with governmental regulations, and promote teamwork through communication and coordination with other departments. A key aspect is educating team members in quality and service standards, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties effectively.This position also involves driving guest satisfaction and brand compliance within the Food & Beverage Operation. You will implement services and programs that exceed guest expectations, maintain a comprehensive beverage list, and introduce unique beverage experiences. Financial responsibilities include forecasting budgets, analyzing financials to drive revenue and profitability, and controlling expenses. You will ensure the security of beverage products and inventory while minimizing waste and identifying additional sales opportunities. Additionally, you will act as a public relations representative to raise awareness of the hotel's offerings and drive community involvement.
About youWe are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. The successful candidate will have:
- WSET or similar sommelier qualifications (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years + experience in a similar role
- Beverage / Cocktail and A la carte restaurant service experience essential
- Knowledge of the Australian and international market
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Experience in a similar role working in five-star hotels/fine dining desirable
