What can I expect in a typical day working day as a Barista / Allrounder at a Compass Social Enterprise Cafe?
Through our Social Enterprise cafes, Compass provide meaningful vocational opportunities for people with disabilities looking for real-world hospitality and customer service experience and to unleash their inner barista, cook and waiter / waitress.
Compass Social Enterprises are growing, so we are seeking a skilled Barista / cafe allrounder superstar to add to our team, who has a passion for great coffee, customer service and teaching others!
Working in our Social Enterprise Cafe you will:
- 4 days a week between 9am - 1.30pm Tuesday to Friday
- Make delicious coffees and beverages for our customers
- Be able to support our team and Trainees to prepare light meals and desserts when needed
- Help to train our Trainees to prepare coffee and deliver great customer service
- Help out with EFT and cash register transactions
- Clean and care for the coffee machine and order supplies
- General kitchen and front of house duties such as clearing tables, dishes and cafe cleaning as needed
What are the requirements to become a Barista / Front of House team member with Compass?
- Proven experience as a Barista
- Experience with ordering and coffee machine maintenance
- Proven experience multi-tasking and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and an active problem solver
- Great communication skills and enjoy teaching others
- A understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Have or be willing to get a Disability Worker Screening and Blue card
- Dedicated to empowering others and making a difference!
