Business Development Manager - Sales

Our client is a dynamic small business specializing in the provision of innovative security devices. Their mission is to enhance safety and peace of mind for individuals and businesses through innovative technology and reliable solutions. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented Business Development Manager, to join their team and drive their products to capture new accounts, build revenue and leverage off existing accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager, to successfully contribute to the growth, revenue and market share of our client’s security product and service offerings across Australia.


Your key responsibilities will include
  • Develop and implement Business Development strategies to drive sales growth across Australia
  • Deliver sales growth through your own proactive pipeline development to achieve company objectives, sales targets and meet individual and team KPI’s
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying customers and accounts to maximise on all opportunities as a product and service partner and actively collaborating with your sales team
  • B2B sales success typically pitching to business owners, procurement, ‘C suite executives’, and key stakeholders and decisions makers across different industry verticals, utilising a consultative and engaging approach to provide a service-based solution
  • Stakeholder engagement and management with the ability to build rapport immediately with customers, both cold calling and face to face and build long-term relationships
  • Taking responsibility for your own call cycle, portfolio management and pipeline, to maximise on your success
  • The development and management of a segmented and regional sales plan to maximise on productivity and outcomes, and of course your earning potential
  • Operating with a high level of customer centricity and commercial acumen, sales strategy
  • Sales activity reporting
  • Bid and Tender writing, presentations, pitching to ‘C suite’ executives and Boards
  • You becoming a subject matter expert on their premium products and services and becoming the ‘go to’ preferred supplier for referral responses to provide solutions
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, gaps and customers needs in the security devices industry
  • Identify and create partnerships with relevant industry organisations to be the supplier of choice, by providing a solutions approach
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities and new to market products globally, attend trade shows
  What you will bring to this role
  • A min of 5 + years’ experience in B2B consultative sales roles
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build rapport and build relationships with customers and clients
  • Excellent pipeline management & lead conversion skills, both cold call and face to face
  • Experience in developing professional networks & selling service-based solutions
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport immediately
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experienced and responsible for managing individual and team KPI’s, sales, revenue targets
  • Experienced and successful working autonomously, self-motivated, driven
  • Experienced in using CRMs to manage and track pipeline development and provide sales reporting
  • A high degree of motivation and a collaborative, consultative, solutions-based style
  • A high attention to detail and flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Proven success in delivering to revenue targets
  • Confident in preparing Sales reports and reporting to all audience levels of the organisation
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as autonomously
