Role overview:
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in improving the lives of individuals by developing and implementing person-centred, evidence-based positive Behaviour Support plans.
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments to understand triggers and maintainers of behaviour.
- Identify current restrictive practices used by NDIS providers, family, carers, teachers, and volunteers.
- Develop person-centred, evidence-based positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Deliver tailored support and training on implementing positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Apply intervention strategies to reduce and/or eliminate restrictive practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Ensure compliance with authorised restrictive practices.
- Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain client information in accordance with organisational, professional, and NDIS requirements.
- Comply with NDIS regulations for behaviour plan submissions.
- Manage own calendar and client database.
- Provide guidance for risk assessment and safety planning.

- Qualification in Speech Pathology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or other relevant tertiary qualification with appropriate registration.
- Skills and knowledge in planning, implementing, and evaluating Behaviour Support services.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current C Class driver's license.
- Covid-19 Digital Certificate.
Desirable Position Criteria
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting, particularly relating to Aboriginal Health and Culture.
- Availability to travel across the region when required, including overnight stays. Accommodation & travel funded.
