  • Employment Status: This is a permanent full time position.
  • Pay rates starting as SCHADS level 6.1 PLUS Salary package up to $15,900 per annum each FBT year plus further meals and entertainment benefits up to $2649 pa
  • Location: Support Hub in Geelong, VIC
  • Billable hours: A key difference within this role is that you are only claiming 65% of your time (or 23.62hours for a full time employee) with the other 35% left for personal development, administrative tasks and team support.
  • Professional Development: 2 hours per week is available to each therapist / practitioner to focus upon Professional Development

Our Allied Health team improves the lives of our community by improving the wellbeing and ability to manage everyday tasks of our clients. Our Allied Health team consists of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics Specialist Behaviour Support and Allied Health Assistance. We work with NDIS Participants of all ages who present with "behaviours of concern" - signs that all is not well in that person's life.Reposting to our Allied Health Operations Manager, you will provide leadership to a team of 12-15 Behaviour Support Practitioners (BSPs) with the main focus of reducing the use of restrictive practice and promoting a quality of life for those who may experience challenging behaviours. You will be someone who have completed a degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or similar .You will be supported not only by motivated peers but also by a knowledgeable and passionate leadership team.   • Build, strengthen and promote effective, co-operative and positive partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders e.g. other branches of genU, disability providers including mental health services, community and mainstream supports and the NDIA
  • Assist and guide Behaviour Support Practitioners to effectively evaluate the successful nature of Behaviour Support Plans and development of fade-out strategies, for the use of restrictive practices
  • Monitor client outcomes and organisational measures and identify opportunities to improve the services delivered

About YouYou will be a great communicator who has knowledge and success in the leadership of a team, including the ability to understand and relay strategic objectives, fostering a positive work environment where your team will thrive.Essential requirements:
  • Relevant degree qualification (or higher) with Counselling, Psychology, Allied Health, or similar areas of Social and Behaviour Sciences.
  • Relevant registration with the associated regulatory body
  • Working as a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner (as assessed by the National Quality and Safeguards Commision)
You will also meet the following essential requirements or the willingness to gain these clearances if successful:
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current NDIS Working With Childrens Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (WOM) available on the NDIS website.
