Our Above Water Systems (AWS) business provides a range of Engineering & Maintenance services for commercial & Navy ships. With a team of over 500 employees, we are proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through our support of the Australian Royal Navy.
The opportunity
We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join our AWS business as the Bids and Programs Manager.
Based out of Garden Island (Woolloomooloo)This a key leadership role and will cover all aspects of Bid Management and functional aspects of Program Management including:
Providing direction and guidance to a portfolio of bid/project teams to achieve business outcomes,
Strategically leading the development of high quality and competitive bid offers,
Ensuring the portfolio objectives in relation to performance, growth and reputation are exceeded,
Supporting the Sales & Marketing team to pursue and secure future opportunities within the portfolio,
Adherence to, and improvement of, the Thales Bids & Project Management Governance framework.
About you
Ideally, we are looking for a highly adaptable leader who has the ability to prioritise and bring stakeholders along on the journey and make a difference for the business. To meet the requirements of the role with ease you will ideally have:
Prior experience leading multidisciplinary Project/Bid Teams, ideally in the Defence or Aerospace Industry
IPMA Certification or the ability to secure certification
Proven projects/Bid leadership experience
Ability to lead in an international environment with a diverse group of stakeholders
Exceptional customer focus and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
Experienced with Earned Value Management (EVM) and ASDEFCON
