The role
As an energy industry seasoned Billing Specialist, you will be accountable for the delivery of timely and accurate invoicing, payment allocations, records maintenance and excellent customer relationships whilst working alongside the billing operations team. The role helps to ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance obligations, protect revenue and support sustainable business growth.
We are looking for someone with a:
Strong background in billing procedures
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Highly organised with the ability to manage time effectively to deliver on priorities
Capability to work in a time-sensitive environment
A day in the life of an Energy Locals Billing Specialist looks like:
Actively working to resolve issues impacting the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice creation and, distribution
Reviewing invoices for accuracy, ensuring adherence to agreements, pricing and billing T&Cs
Processing and reconciling customer payments promptly
Ensure accurate data entry including configuration and troubleshooting any data-related issues or exceptions
Coordinate with customers and internal team members to address billing inquiries, resolve disputes, and provide exceptional service
Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of customer accounts, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies or errors
Continuously assess and improve billing processes, systems, and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy
Staying updated on industry regulations and billing best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as finance, operations, and sales to streamline processes and resolve billing-related issues
