Jones Day is seeking a Billing Specialist to support the Australian offices of Jones Day. This is a full-time role based in the Sydney office.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates to take the lead in assisting the Partners and Associates with the billing for global clients. This role will report into the Firm Billing & Client Services Manager and the Billing Supervisor.
On a day-to-day basis, the key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain expertise of the Firm’s billing systems and tools.
- Work with Client Service Lawyers to ensure timely billing and collections.
- Assist with the application of Alternative Billing Arrangements and annual review and approval of same.
- Review time/expense charges to ensure correct grammar, spelling and conformity to Client Billing Guidelines.
- Issue draft bills that meet attorney/client requirements for attorney review.
- Incorporate edits made by billing attorney(s) and prepare bills in final form.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for billing attorneys and clients as requested.
- Maintain expertise of Electronic Billing vendors; upload/monitor invoice submission in same.
- Continuously monitor client pipeline (unbilled amounts and accounts receivable); enter relevant comments in Pipeline Control System

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in Legal or Professional Services Billing; Aderant Billing preferred.
