Learning Links run 93 sessions of Bingo/Charity Housie across 46 venues to raise funds to empower children with learning difficulties to thrive.
We commenced sessions in QLD and Northern NSW in Sept 2023 and now run 4x profitable sessions per week. Our aim is to run 11 weekly Bingo/Charity Housie sessions in the region by 30 June 2025.
The Area Manager role is key to achieving our growth goal and expanding our services in the region.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Manage all operational elements related to Bingo/Housie sessions in Clubs, including but not limited to running sessions to targets, promotions, stocktakes, training new staff, ordering stock, and ensuring resources are available for sessions to run smoothly.
- Lead, develop, train, and upskill the team of Bingo/Housie Workers.
- Meet with prospective Clubs/venues with regards to hosting new sessions and drive growth in QLD and Northern NSW.
- Liaise with Clubs and patrons to ensure that strong and professional relationships are built and maintained.
- Use customer feedback and financial results to make and recommend improvements to the services.
- Regularly communicate with Executive Manager, Clubs with regards to developments, progress and opportunities for growth.
- Attend weekly Area Manager meetings via video conferencing. Attend monthly Bingo/Housie Manager meetings via video and quarterly in person in Sydney.
- Work with Session Supervisors to ensure session reports are submitted during the session, where possible.
- Roster staff including managing leave, conducting training and induction, and managing WHS and return to work plans.
- Conduct regular meetings with Bingo/Housie Workers as well as Self Reflection reviews.
- Coach Bingo/Housie Workers to ensure sessions are delivered to a high standard and positive relationships are built.
- Manage customer complaints.
Working times and locations
This is a part time position working 24 hours per week. There is opportunity for these hours to increase as fundraising Bingo/Housie grows in the area.
In this role you are expected to Session Supervise, Call or Train at a minimum of 2x sessions per week (8 hours per week), including 1x weekend session per month.
The current shift times for the sessions are:
Mondays 9:30AM to 1:30PM - Cleveland
Tuesdays 9:30AM to 1:30PM - Tweed Heads
Thursdays 12:30PM to 4:30PM - Tweed Heads
Sundays 1:30PM to 5:30PM - Tweed Heads
It is expected that the Area Manager attend each session regularly.
The Area Manager is required to attend weekly team meetings via video conferencing (currently Wednesday 1.30pm- 2.30pm) as well as monthly Bingo/Housie Manager’s Meetings.
Training will be conducted in Sydney during 3x 2 day trips in the first 3 months of employment.
Quarterly Sydney trips are required to attend Leadership Development Days and Bingo/Housie Manager’s meetings.
About you
- Strong team leadership experience
- More than 2 years’ experience leading staff and running promotions
- Rostering experience, and experience managing leave across a team
- Strong communication skills and customer service experience
- Relationship/Stakeholder management
- Experience working with Clubs desired
- MS Office experience
- Proficient computer skills
