About the role
We are currently seeking multiple individuals with proven initiative and leadership skills to join our Port Giles team as Bulk Loading Plant (BLP) Operators. We have both permanent part time and casual opportunities available. In the role of BLP Operator, you will work within a team to ensure stored grain is efficiently loaded onto ships to meet strict export deadlines. Key responsibilities include meeting stakeholders’ needs and ensuring all commodities within the site are handled and loaded in an effective, hygienic and safe manner to meet export standards.
Duties may include but are not limited to
- Operate machinery to load commodities in bulk
- Operate equipment to complete general maintenance of the plant
- Complete and participate in safety and plant inspections
- Participate in and promote a safe working environment
- Complete all duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Undertake required training and development
- Cleaning and general hygiene of plant
- Ability to use initiative, learn quickly and accept new challenges
- Proven experience leading a team
- Possess an enthusiastic attitude based around safe production for bulk loading plant
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work through problems in order to find practical solutions
- Industry experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial
