As CareSouth expands, so do the opportunities to join our organisation. We have two volunteer Board Director positions available to guide CareSouth’s strategic direction, provide governance and help bring our vision to life to build a better future for the vulnerable communities we support.
About CareSouth
CareSouth is a community services organisation, 30 years young, that supports vulnerable children, young people, families, and people with disabilities to gain independence and build a better future.
Based across regional NSW in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla, Sapphire Coast, Southern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Riverina and Murrumbidgee regions, we offer services and programs in youth support and early intervention, foster care, therapeutic care homes, youth homelessness and NDIS disability services.
We are a bunch of passionate people dedicated to making a difference and achieving the best outcomes for those we support, no matter their circumstances.
About the role
CareSouth is governed by a group of Board Directors who share a mutual passion for making a difference in the lives of others. With backgrounds in community services, teaching, finance and health, they bring a wealth of experience and perspective to shape the future of our organisation.
As a Board Director, your responsibilities include:
- Expertise – Drawing on your professional and/or lived experience to enhance the expertise and diversity of the organisation.
- Strategic direction – Guiding the strategic direction of CareSouth in line with client needs and sector developments.
- Governance – Providing sound governance for effective business, financial, legal, risk and compliance management.
- Advocacy – Uphold and lead with CareSouth’s values, promote our vision and foster community connections to support the organisation’s growth and development.
Your commitment to the Board includes a monthly meeting held remotely after hours and on occasion in person at one of CareSouth’s offices, as well as administrative duties and event attendance as required.
The two roles available are for an initial 1-year term, with the possibility of extension.

We also strongly encourage applications from people with lived experience similar to the clients we support, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
You are a collaborative team member with a big-picture mindset and the proven ability to drive organisational change.
