About The Role
CareSouth are currently seeking a casual role of Secretary to the Board of Directors. This role would not involve a lot of hours, but this may change as needs change. It would range from 12-20 hours per month.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Secretary will be responsible for ensuring that accurate and sufficient documentation exists to meet legal requirements, and to enable authorised persons to determine when, how and by whom the Board's business was conducted. This position plays a critical role in fostering communication and ensuring proper management and utilisation of important organisational records.
The Secretary will attend monthly Board of Directors meetings as well as sub-meetings where required. To be successful in this role you must have the ability to exercise the utmost discretion, maintain confidentiality and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once. It would suit someone who has retired early and would still like some involvement. It will not suit someone who is already in employment or someone seeking full-time employment.
Apart from attendance on site at some monthly Board meetings at lot of the administrative work could be done from home. CareSouth will providethe necessary equipment.
In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- Current or previous experience working with Boards or in board membership is highly desirable;
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office, Email and web based applications;
- Experience in preparing, collating and distributing information in preparation for meetings;
- Previous experience in maintaining and preparing agendas, notes and minutes at various meetings where required;
- Demonstrated experience in calendar management;
- Ability to accurately file and store documentation;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- A knowledge of BoardPro or other Board Management Software is desirable
- Ability to attend monthly Board meetings from 5pm;
