Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team onsite in Tomago.
Team you belong to
You will join a strong workshop team who work well together. This is a Monday to Friday role. In this position, you will report to the Workshop Supervisor.
What you’ll do
• Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes for screens etc. according to specifications.
• Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets. Ensure work is to a high standard and meets standards required as per individual job.
• Repair, replace, modify, and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.
• Be able to weld to AS1554 Part 5 standard when required. Ability to pass weld test when required.
• Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job.
• Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job.
• Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job.
• Ensure all safety inductions and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks.
• Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment.
• Dismantle, replace, and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities.
• Assist fitters with jobs on the go.
• Strong focus on Safety in the workplace.
Who you are
• Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
• 5 plus years boiler making experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to getting jobs completed on time.
Desirable
• Current forklift ticket.
• Current dogman ticket.
