Metro Civil are an established small/medium sized Civil construction business located in Campbellfield. A progressive and innovative business built on the foundation of quality, excellence and superior service.
The Successful Candidate will be an integral member of the management team and report directly to the General Manager and Managing Director.
The is a full-time- onsite - salaried role from Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 3.30pm
Job tasks and responsibilities
- End to End Payroll (Up to 40 employees)
- Timesheet management of all employees on daily basis
- Full Function Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Bank reconciliation on daily basis
- Debtors’ management
- Month End processing, reconciliation of financial statements & reporting
- Reconciliation & lodgement of BAS, IAS, Superannuation, Payroll tax, LSL Leave on quarterly and monthly basis.
- Budgeting, Implementing & Tracking Financial KPIs
- Data Entry for accurate invoicing
- Cash flow management
- Liaising with ATO, finance broker and Insurance broker
- Assisting external tax accountants with end of year tax lodgement documents
- Providing weekly and monthly financial reports to management
- Provide support to the General Manager and Managing Director
- P&L and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Reviewing costs and cost saving strategies
- Manage the group entities and investments.
- Best practice - continually identify and implement process or systemic improvements
Ad-hoc duties as required

Skills and experience
To be considered for this challenging and exciting position, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in both accounts and payroll function
- Knowledge of industrial awards for relevant employment, tax and superannuation legislation
- Display leadership traits and behaviours to work with and support current team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical, enthusiastic & responsive team member, with a can-do attitude
- Excellent time management, planning, follow-up and organizational skills
- The ability to take initiative and work efficiently both autonomously or within a team
- Excellent reporting skills
- High Attention to Detail
- Strong XERO Skills (End to End)
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access database
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a permanent Australian resident
