Frames Now are picture frame importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and drop shippers, together with 9 brick-and-mortar stores in metro Melbourne, and e-commerce retailers. We are profitable and cashflow positive.
The Role
Sitting at the core of this role requires a very experienced bookkeeper for traditional end-to-end bookkeeping, rostering, and payroll.
For a candidate who is seeking more than bookkeeping and looking for diversity and autonomy, this is the role for you.
You will be providing support to the senior team and business-wide generally. You will have full transparency across the business to enable you to shine in this role.
About You
The current major software platforms you will using are Xero, Deputy, and Excel. Whilst these may not be the current platforms you are working with, we expect that you are so very proficient that a change of software brand would not unsettle you.
There will be a handover period from our retiring incumbent and their ongoing support if required and additional support as required by our external accountants.
It is a hands-on, sleeves-up, 5-day-a-week, work-from-office role. Our modern, bright offices are located on-site with our manufacturing and main warehouse so you can enjoy our family value culture and have the intimacy of each facet of our business. We want you to be across everything and question everything.
Whilst we are entering our 51st year of business that should not be confused with our thirst for seeking better ways to do everything across our business.

We are seeking a very experienced bookkeeper who is articulate and has worked in a medium-sized business ideally with a manufacturing and or multisite environment and exposure to costing.
What your day/week/month will look like:
There are all the daily responsibilities that you would expect in an end-to-end bookkeeping, rostering, and payroll position:
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Debtor invoicing (minimal)
- Debtors (minimal number, 7-day accounts, squeaky clean)
- Creditors (minimal number, always paid before 30 days)
- Creditor payments
- Purchase order support
- Monthly journals
- Asset and depreciation ledgers
- Retail rostering support, Timesheet approval, Payroll Processing (Circa 70 staff with various awards, few are salaried, most are electronic time sheets- Deputy)
- On and Off-boarding processes
- Monthly reporting (Financial and Non-Financial)
- Adhoc reporting
- Data query and searching
- Statutory reporting
- Liaising with external accountants
And then some diversity
It is a challenge to detail in a recruitment ad as many of the tasks are ad hoc and infrequent but I would rather be transparent about the nitty gritty stuff that just needs to be done. If that is not what a candidate doesn't want to be doing as they are seeking a pure bookkeeping role, best we discover that together here and now.

- Sourcing ad-hoc “stuff” maybe that's a result of a Google/Amazon search

- Maintaining key registers
- Sourcing quotes (with support) for annual general insurance renewals
- Stocktake supervision and QC
- Product detail and pricing maintenance across our various platforms
