Prepare to make the move toward the Kimberley where an opportunity now exists for a permanent, full time Bore Runner to join one of the largest, most iconic cattle stations in the state spanning over 1 million acres stocking over 20,000 head of branded cattle. With the opportunity to work alongside a team of other passionate industry personnel & reporting to the Station Manager, the Bore Runner will be ultimately responsible for refueling bores & maintaining turkey’s nests, dams, motors, troughs and surrounding fences to ensure continual water supply to the stock.
Position Requirements:
- To undertake daily bore runs across the station.
- Service & start bores and check tanks & turkey nest levels.
- Check and clean troughs.
- Inspect fencing and suggest any maintenance & repairs that need doing & undertake repair if necessary.
- Submit a daily bore run and service report.
- Note livestock condition and movements & report any abnormalities or injured stock.
- Be in support of the livestock programs and practices in place to ensure compliance.
- Be compliant with all company workplace health and safety protocols and procedures.
- Undertake other duties within the position as reasonably directed.
- To have previous experience within a bore running or station hand position.
- To bring a transferrable mechanical or plumbing skill set to the position.
- To hold a current driver’s licence (Class C)
- To be capable of communicating with the station crew, both verbal & written.
- To have sound organisational and problem-solving skills.
- To have a sound understanding of cattle station operations in general and what’s required in terms of relevant company policies & procedures.
- While it’s not essential, a MR truck licence and first aid certificate will be viewed favourably.
