Each gown is handcrafted, designed, and prototyped in our Melbourne studio by our production team with a wealth of knowledge in couture.

About the Role
Your key role within the company would be to assist the Production Manager with cutting, sewing and alterations, handwork, quality control checking, pattern making and light admin duties.
This role would be suitable for an individual that has an exceptional eye for detail, loves the face paced environment of a workroom and is passionate about fashion production and would like to build a career in this area.
Knowledge of garment construction, the ability to hand-sew an confidence with alterations on an industrial machine is required.
This role will include but is not limited to:
- Proficient use of an industrial sewing machine completing alterations
- Cutting Jane Hill gowns
- Tracing patterns
- Examining allocated gowns with a detailed eye, to identify the quality of our product in accordance with our brand's policy
- Working closely with our production team to resolve any issues or concerns with the gowns
- Amending any issue with handwork if required and discussing any larger concerns with our production team
- Problem solving in a quick turn around
- Intermediate skills in google sheets
- Accepting in stock supplies
- Shipping and handling
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone who has studied fashion design at the tertiary level or a similar course outline. Please note that this is a requirement for the position, and only applicants with this will be considered for the role
Skills required but not limited to:
- Must have 2 years experience in a similar role
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Experience with garment construction
- Have strong sewing skills: both hand sewing and machining
- Strong understanding of fabrics and how they perform
- Ability to read and understand patterns, lay patterns and cut fabric following pattern instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisation skills, including time management and multitasking
- Being able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Motivated and driven to complete tasks
- Have the ability to lift, bend and move heavy items
