What You Will Be Doing
The Bridging Support Worker will actively support the counselling service’s clients by proactively contacting clients awaiting their first appointment by ‘checking-in,’ increasing familiarity with the service, supporting client wellbeing, providing information on access to additional or alternative support options, and completing initial administrative tasks. Risk screening and escalation will be conducted as needed during a call with a client. You will also maintain professional boundaries in providing high quality Bridging Support, without crossing over to counselling or therapeutic work.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
Relevant tertiary education in an area of health, welfare, or community service sector; preferably related to mental health.
Advanced listening, communication, and engagement skills; particularly over the phone.
Ability to assert and maintain professional boundaries.
Ability to identify risk and escalate as appropriate.
Foundational knowledge of Motivational Interviewing framework

Please refer to salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Employers Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026) for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
This role must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and meet the requirements of the Peninsula Health immunisation policy.
