AddressBuilding Surveyor required for temporary contract in Perth's South Metro Your new company Hays Recruitment are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a large South Metropolitan Local Government in the Perth Region. This is a short-term contract and will be suitable for the right candidate who is ready to hit the ground running.
Your new role Reporting to the Coordinator Building Services, you will be responsible for providing professional advice relevant to City Building statutory requirements, and for processing building applications to ensure compliance with those standards. Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Reviewing all building approvals for compliance with the Building Code of Australia
- Consulting with Planning, Health and Engineering Officers in relation to residential, commercial and industrial development in the community.
- Preparing correspondence and building permits once development approval has been granted
- Liaise with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) regarding fire prevention and safety features of the Building Code
- Undertake timely building inspections and ensure buildings are compliant with approved plans
- Conduct regular swimming pool inspections in accordance with Building Regulations 2012
Part 8 Division 2 What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and understanding of the Building Act and Regulations and the Building Code of Australia
- Current WA Building Surveyor Level 2 Registration
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence
