The City of Nedlands is seeking a qualified Building Surveying Practitioner to join our dynamic Building Services business unit.

About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator of Building Services, the Building Surveyor will play a vital role in accessing and processing building applications while ensuring strict adherence to all relevant building legislation, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
The Building Surveyor will also provide professional technical advice on building matters to both internal and externa stakeholders, conduct inspections, and address minor compliance issues.
About the successful candidate
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a similar role, preferably within a Local Government context and demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant building surveying legislation, regulations, and statutory requirements.
Other essential requirements:
- Advanced Diploma (or working towards) in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification approved by the Building Services Board.
- Registration as Level 2 Building Surveying Practitioner or Level 3 Technician with the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulations and Safety.
- Construction Induction “White Card”.
- Sound customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong research, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Current “C” class Drivers Licence.
- Current National Police Certificate.
What we offer
This permanent, full-time position offers a cash salary range of $92,235 - $107,303 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
