About the opportunity:

As the Professor in the Built Environment, you'll have the exciting journey of defining this position from the ground up. This presents a remarkable opportunity for you to infuse your distinct thoughts, innovations, and skills into the fabric of this role. Beginning your tenure at UC as the Peet Chair for a period of five years, you will subsequently transition into a continuing role as director of the new research hub in the Built Environment.

This role isn't just about research; it's about being a visible face, connecting with industry partners and internal stakeholders alike. With the flexibility to set meaningful objectives, this opportunity provides a platform for guest lecturing, active involvement in community and industry events, and leadership of the discipline beyond the walls of the university. Additionally, it involves a crucial role in securing external research funding while also mentoring academic staff.

To be eligible for consideration, you must hold a Doctoral level qualification in the Built Environment or a related area. Furthermore, you should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of internationally recognised research publications, successful supervision of higher degree research students, and a history of securing substantial grant funding. Additionally, a demonstrated history of successful strategic engagement with industry is essential.

  • Professional Development offerings (study assistance, corporate programs and discounts)
  • Innovative work environment with a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and a corporate private Health Plan (Bupa)

We warmly welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, persons with disabilities, and those representing culturally diverse backgrounds to join us in creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
