Maroondah City Council has an exciting opportunity for a qualified, experienced, and committed individual to work within its Operations team.

The Bushland Revegetation and Community Officer reports directly to the Bushland Revegetation and Community Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the coordination and support of the various environmental community groups, and other interested parties present within Maroondah.

The Bushland Revegetation and Community Officer will also assist in the coordination of various Revegetation and maintenance programs within Maroondah.

The successful candidate will need:

• A trade qualification in Conservation and Land Management relevant to the role, which must be attained via Certificate III (via an apprenticeship provider) or Certificate IV or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge of indigenous flora species, weed species, revegetation techniques and bushland ecology.
• Demonstrated experience in the coordination and support of environmental community groups/volunteer ‘friends’ groups.
• Demonstrated experience in organising and managing revegetation programs in accordance with best practice Conservation and Land Management principles and coordinating the equipment required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to operate within a high-level organisation and ability to prioritise and have outstanding time management skills.
