What are we looking for?
The Maintenance and Fleet Officer plays an integral role within the organisation to ensure the timely management and completion of works within our current SIL and SDA properties. You will also be responsible for the management of our vehicle fleet including coordinating maintenance and damage.
Accountabilities
Administration
Administration tasks where necessary including:
- Maintaining the Facility Request Board on Monday.
- Managing jobs allocated to contractors/trades people including quotations, follow ups etc.
- Selecting the right contractor for the right job considering cost, time, and any specific requirements of the job.
- Supervise jobs where required, ensuring timeframes are adhered to and within the allocated budget.
- Coordination of Area Managers, House Managers and Real Estate agents to resolve maintenance issues that is the responsibility of the Landlord.
Trades
Where a qualified Tradesperson is required, the expectations are:
- Managing jobs allocated to contractors/trades people including quotations, follow ups etc.
- Selecting the right contractor for the right job considering cost, time, and any specific requirements of the job.
- Supervise jobs where required, ensuring timeframes are adhered to and within the allocated budget.
Maintenance Tasks
Responsible for executing handyman tasks across all sites/homes including:
- Patching of walls
- Painting of patching of walls
- Changing of door locks
- Replacement of doors
- Changing of taps, washers, filters etc.
- Rubbish removal
- Minor repairs where necessary
- Boarding walls on small areas
- Undertake light installation (e.g., assembly work)
- Repair equipment or appliances
- Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
- Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
- Identify and report the need for major repairs
- Manage list or repair requests
This is not an exhaustive list, and you may be directed to perform other tasks within your skillset.
Fleet Management
Coordinate monthly reporting on:
- Vehicle status including KMS, upcoming service dates, condition of vehicle.
- Management of vehicle servicing and cleaning.
- Record keeping of Fleetio always ensuring the system is up to date.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience in a Maintenance role, preferably within a dynamic organisation.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- A strategic thinker with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Well organised, and able to be flexible in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal and consultative skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions.
- Show initiative and work independently to complete tasks with limited guidance.
