About the Role:
Responsibilities:
- Work on various client assignments, including the preparation of accounts, annual returns, BAS, and trusts/companies documentation.
- Provide comprehensive taxation services, including researching and resolving tax issues, verifying financial results, analysing income and expenditure, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and managing the FBT system from information gathering to completion and calculation.
- Prepare and review tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Maintain and produce financial reports using Xero.
- Collaborate with the Principal on Business Advisory matters.
- Conduct client meetings independently when capable.
- Contribute positively to the practice's culture and work collaboratively with the team to achieve collective goals.
About you:
- You have met all necessary requirements from the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) to become a Registered Tax Agent, or are nearing completion.
- Ideally, you possess at least 2 years of experience in a professional services accounting firm, handling accounting and business services assignments. This includes the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Strong proficiency in Xero.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
- You are either a qualified CA/CPA or are actively working towards this qualification.
- Detail-oriented with a professional approach.
- Eager to learn new skills and advance your career, aiming to progress to a Practice Manager & Partner role within the next few years.
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is ideal.
- You enjoy interacting with people and assisting others.
