Located 38 kilometres south of Mackay, DBCT P/L operates with a name plate capacity of 85 million tonnes per annum exporting coal from Central Queensland to ports around the world. This wouldn’t be possible without great people - people just like you.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Asset Management Business Unit (BU) by providing comprehensive financial reporting, cost accounting services, and strategic insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
You will:
- Contribute to the achievement of business unit objectives by providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
- Deliver contemporary financial reporting and cost accounting function to the Asset Management BU through accurate data collation and timely reporting.
- Provide management accounting services to the ASM Business unit, ensuring Operating and Maintenance Contract (OMC) and statutory requirements are met.
- Deliver monthly cost reports to relevant stakeholders to ensure corporate reporting timelines are met.
- Complete Business Unit Monthly Cost Accruals through timely and accurate collation of data and coaching of stakeholders to complete their responsibilities.
- Assist in coordinating and delivering the ASM Quarterly 18-month rolling cost forecast and annual business plan
To be successful in the role ideally you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commercial (e.g. Accounting or Finance) or Business related field is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge and experience in the application of budget frameworks and integrated financial systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and educate stakeholders at all levels in the organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Prior experience in business operations and costing systems for medium to large sized organisations, in the resources or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Experience in preparing and interpreting internal financial reports
- Experience in development and management of operating and capital budgets
