Based in Melbourne, the Business Analyst - Digital is responsible for managing the interface between the business and IT for the delivery of enterprise solutions. To succeed in this role, you will be a highly motivated, passionate, and ambitious team player who can adapt and change and seeks to continually improve the way they and their teams work. Working within a dedicated team of industry professionals, this position is
hands on and will assist in transforming and improving the group approach
to problem solving and effective and efficient delivery using Agile, DevOps
and Design Thinking practices.
As a Business Analyst, you will be involved in the software
engineering process through:
- Driving, validating and prioritising initiative scope;
- Compiling comprehensive and coherent Stories, Epics, Use Cases, Acceptance Criteria, Process Maps/ Flows, Story Boards, Iterative releases, and Retrospectives;
- Facilitating design discussions in-line with architecture strategy and Shell’s future roadmap;
- Sprint planning and workshop facilitation;
- Working collaboratively with developers and provide feedback on solution and UI design;
- Support development of automated testing and CI/CD pipelines;
- When required review test plans, training plans and any other relevant delivery documentation;
- Stakeholder management;
- Working closely with the product owner and development team to deliver sprints with a seamless customer journey in focus;
- Influencing the direction of strategic programs by incorporating Human Centred Design and Design Thinking into their way of delivery;
- Coaching and develop business stakeholders in Agile and Design Thinking;
- Conducting solution demonstrations to senior management; and
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and/or innovation in both solution and process design.
What you’ll bring

- Innovative and questioning nature to explore ideas and prototype solutions;
- An interest in business solution development with an understanding of design principles and technology solution architecture;
- Demonstrated experience leveraging agile and design thinking approaches and coaching stakeholders to ensure adoption;
- Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as a firm grasp on the latest technology trends globally;
- Demonstrated ability to model data, user stories and processes experience in implementing process change and producing supporting documentation;
- Extensive experience in Scrum and Kanban frameworks and thei application;
- Extensive demonstrated experience working in agile software development teams and engaging product owners and subject matter experts in agile projects;
- Experience in the analysis of both business processes and the design of technology-based solutions;
- Knowledgeable about Design Thinking, Human Centered design and working in an agile/lean UX environment;
- Extensive background creating research and design artefacts, such as user personas, journey maps, wireframes/sketches, and prototypes;
- Previous experience in energy industry systems and processes and experience working with CRMs and billing systems will be highly regarded;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (phone and face-to-face); and
- Ability to work in a team environment.
