About the Role
The Business Analyst role will be at the forefront of researching and analysing business opportunities. They will leave no stone unturned when delving into new domains, discovering information and distilling insights to help guide the business.
The Business Analyst plays a core role in product development by producing detailed documentation utilised by downstream technology delivery teams. The Business Analyst partners with technology to ensure requirements are fully understood and reflected in product design. The Business Analyst is responsible for their personal deliverables and downstream product outcomes.
The Business Analyst reports to the product manager, who provides the product vision and custodianship of product-related decisions. The Business Analyst complements the product manager by becoming an expert in specific areas that require exploration and definition.
The role involves engaging with external stakeholders when researching new opportunities and rolling out new initiatives, and as such, the ability to create rapport while conducting yourself professionally is essential. Equally, the Business Analyst will benefit from developing strong working relationships with colleagues across product, technology, customer support, and business development.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience working in logistics with exposure to transport-specific operations and technology products.
- Experience in a role requiring detail-oriented analysis and a track record in producing written documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to focus on a challenging task, unpack it and document findings using a systematic methodology. Examples include business cases, data models, analytical reports, solution requirements and business processes.
- Experience conducting workshops with stakeholders to delve into business challenges/opportunities and then mobilising initiatives that implement change to create positive outcomes.
Preferable Skills and Experience
- Experience working in a software development environment, ideally with SaaS products.
- Experience delivering analysis input into a broader software development life cycle.
- Experience producing product feature specifications e.g. user stories.
- Experience working using agile principles to guide delivery.
- Have a working understanding of the foundational technology components required to create a technology product.
