Job Description
Join Australia’s No.1 Life Insurer as a Business and Planning ManagerGroup Life and Retirement. Reporting to our Head of Governance and Risk, you will contribute to the effectiveness of our Group Life portfolio by supporting both strategic and operational responsibilities.
Working closely with the wider leadership team you will assist with managing and tracking the delivery of the portfolio’s strategic priorities and initiatives.
This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney or Melbourne office.
In this role you will:
  • Prepare and review Group Life and Retirement business reporting and papers for internal and external stakeholders and manage the Board and Executive reporting cycle including drafting papers.
  • Provide oversight and tracking for the Group Life and Retirement leadership priorities, liaising with Business and project teams to ensure actions are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Governance of strategic priorities, plans, and projects to ensure effective delivery of key initiatives.
  • Provide support to the budget process by documenting the operational expense budgets process with regular monitoring and controls in place.
  • Support the communications and engagement plan for the Group Life and Retirement portfolio.
  • Develop and implement a project governance framework to enable Group Life and Retirement initiatives to meet strategic objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate structures are in place to manage and track all change activities including communications, training, and procedures.
  • Implement a process and governance improvement program across Group Life and Retirement.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with stakeholders to build support and foster cross-TAL relationships.
  • Build knowledge and understanding of TAL businesses, as well as a network of internal contacts to contribute to the development of capability in the department.
Qualifications
  • A detailed understanding of the Group Life and RetirementBusiness and associated teams, as well as industry, marketplace and competitor activity.
  • Ability to articulate highly complex issues to a variety of audiences with an understanding of the superannuation/insurance industry.
  • Proven track record in writing effective papers, reports and presentations for others.
  • Ability to manage through ever-changing timelines and business requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ to get outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and influence.
  • Excellent project management skills and business administration skills.
  • Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping.
