About the role
The Business Continuity Planning Manager (Contract until 30th June 2025) is responsible for managing the Business Continuity activities required as part of the implementation of APRA's Prudential Standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management.

The role will be a key project resource required to enable compliance with all Business Continuity requirements in CPS 230, with a resilience focus on areas including Business Continuity, crisis management and incident management. Reporting into the Senior Manager Technology Risk and Resilience, you will be a key member of the CPS 230 project team and provide support on the ongoing implementation and embedding of the new Prudential Standard requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and implement policies and processes to meet CPS 230 Business Continuity requirements.
  • Map critical operations, processes, tolerances, and recovery strategies in line with CPS 230.
  • Identify triggers for disruptions and activate Business Continuity plans.
  • Develop and execute a CPS 230-compliant Business Continuity test plan.
  • Educate and guide Line 1 businesses on CPS230 policies and procedures.
  • Align Business Continuity and disaster recovery plans with the Technology team.
  • Create Business Continuity reporting frameworks for Board and Management.
  • Enhance resilience in Business Continuity, crisis management, IT disaster recovery, and incident management.
  • Assist with regulatory interactions and prepare responses to information requests.
  • Monitor risk indicators, control effectiveness, and produce regular risk reports.
  • Ensure the Business Continuity Framework meets CPS 230 requirements.
  • Support the wider business and CPS 230 project team in compliance efforts.

Key Selection Criteria
  • Degree with 10+ years in resilience planning, focusing on Business Continuity in financial services.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CA, СРА, Business Continuity Institute, Technology).
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and Business Continuity principles (e.g., SPS232, ISO 22301).
  • Understanding of Australia's superannuation system, APRA's prudential framework, and financial services regulations.
  • Initiative, autonomy, and teamwork skills backed with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and logical thinking.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with report-writing experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels.
  • Experience with enterprise Governance Risk and Compliance software is advantageous.
