The opportunity
Business Consultant, to play a crucial role in analysing and improving business processes within AMPs wealth product domain. This is contingent contract role working at AMP.
About the role:
- Leading the end-to-end BA delivery with accountability for quality control,
- Operating as the BA SME / Coach across the whole of AMP’s delivery methodology.
- Continually foster and enhance cross-practice alignment and delivery methodology.
- Operating at a program level with accountability across 2-4 BA workstreams.
- The refinement and ongoing management of the Principal BA estimates, plans and scope.
- Estimating, managing, and delivering individual workstreams and deliverables of your own.
- Proactively managing the quality, timelines, and scope of all BA deliverables, and supporting the Principal BA in key stakeholder engagement activities

- The definition and management of the business, functional and non-functional requirements of change initiatives. The specification of requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of agreed changes.
Business Process Improvement
- The identification of new and alternative approaches to performing business activities. The analysis of business processes, including recognition of the potential for automation of the processes, assessment of the costs and potential benefits of the new approaches considered and, where appropriate, management of change, and assistance with implementation. May include the implementation of a process management capability/discipline at the enterprise level.
Business Rules Definition
- The Identification, Specification and Analysis of the Business Rules to guide or constrain the operations of the business.
Enterprise & Business Architecture
- The creation, iteration, and maintenance of structures such as enterprise and business architectures embodying the key principles, methods and models that describe the organisation's future state, and that enable its evolution.
Consulting
- The provision of advice and recommendations, based on expertise and experience, to address client needs. May deal with one specialist subject area or can be wide ranging and address strategic business issues. May also include support for the implementation of any agreed solutions.
Data Analysis
- The investigation, evaluation, interpretation, and classification of data, to define and clarify information structures which describe the relationships between real world entities. Such structures facilitate the development of software systems, links between systems or retrieval activities.
User / Customer Experience Analysis:
- Analysis: The identification, analysis, clarification, and communication of the context of use in which applications will operate, and of the goals of products, systems, or services.
- Design: The iterative development of user / customer tasks, interaction, and interfaces to meet user / customer requirements, considering the whole user / customer experience.
- Evaluation: Evaluation of systems, products, or services, to assure that the stakeholder and organisational requirements have been met, required practice has been followed, and systems in use continue to meet organisational and user / customer needs.
You will also need to demonstrate a very good proficiency in the following technical capabilities:
- Business Risk management
- Business Process testing
- Business Modelling
- Benefits Management
About you:
- 7.5+ years of working as a Business Analyst on large complex programs within Financial Services,
- 5+ years of managing others, and,
- 3+ years of stakeholder engagement at Head of, Program Manager level
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent (not essential)
- operations / back-office experience or expose in previous projects.
- experience analysing data to identify issues, problems, solutions, and benefits.
- experience in investment platforms or superannuation would be beneficial.
- Exposure to technical requirements / system requirements
