The Business Services and Support Branch (BSSB) provides advice and support to Finance on a range of workplace services, including:
- business optimisation;
- digital information management;
- property and facilities management, office services; and
- protective security management.
- lease management;
- facilities maintenance;
- fit outs;
- accommodation (seating allocation);
- secure waste management;
- concierge services;
- environmental performance reporting;
- procurement and contract management;
- travel services including airline lounge memberships;
- mail and courier services;
- vehicle leasing;
- parking permits;
- office supplies;
- Emergency Management co-ordination; and
- Business Continuity Management co-ordination.

For this opportunity, in the Business Services and Support Branch (BSSB), Finance seeks to recruit a talented and energetic team member who can confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders to support Emergency Management (EM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) at Finance in Canberra. The role also manages staff and contributes to delivering workplace services support for travel, stationery, fleet management, mail and courier services, office supplies and other services to Finance.
BSSB:

- a range of skills including program delivery, stakeholder engagement, strong communication, administration; and
- the ability to apply relevant Australian Standards and guides to Finance EM and BCM, including:
- AS3745 – 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities;
- AS/NZS 5050:2010 Business continuity - Managing disruption-related risk; and
- ANAO’s Business Continuity Management: Better Practice Guide 2009.
- have sound comprehension capabilities;
- be able to develop solutions and implement actions in response to changes in the work environment due to emergency events or business interruptions; and
- work collaboratively to support and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders; and
- be able to manage staff.
The EM coordination role:
- supports the implementation/management of procedures listed in the One Canberra Avenue Emergency Procedures Manual and the Chief Warden; and
- ensures One Canberra Avenue is in a constant state of preparedness for any emergency including warden recruitment, training, planning trial evacuations, building hazard awareness, EM presentations to new starters, facilitation of meetings and maintenance of registers and essential contact lists.
- maintenance of the BCM Framework documents;
- maintenance of the Central Control Team (CCT) recovery kit;
- acting as an advisor to the CCT;
- consolidation of the relocation requirements for critical function teams;
- coordination of an annual desktop exercise for recovery plan testing;
- attending the APS BCM Community of Practice monthly meetings;
- ensuring Finance’s Business Continuity plans for critical functions are reviewed and tested annually; and
- coordination of an annual Business Continuity Plan (BCP) report.
- has supervisory responsibilities for staff, who provide workplace services support for EM, BCM, travel, stationery, fleet management, mail and courier services and other office supplies and services to Finance; and
- provides a level of service delivery to augment existing capacity in the Office Services Team.
