About the role:
We have an exciting role available for an ambitious and successful Business Development / Account Manager who wants to be part of a company that supports growth and progression in their career.
As an experienced Business Development professional with a passion for working in sales and closing deals, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth. You will be responsible for outbound customer prospecting and connecting with our target market to build our client list, and canvas new opportunities with tenders with utilities companies.
Your expertise and in-depth knowledge in the tenders process will be essential in driving success in this role.
You will be responsible for:
- The full procurement process - tendering, scoping, contract negotiation, and compliancy
- Identifying and reaching out to potential customers in order to generate new business opportunities and expand our client base
- Preparing regular reports whilst maintaining KPIs and targets
- Providing sales presentations/pitches to a range of prospective clients
- Maintaining customer information on our CRM
- Staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities for business growth
The successful candidate will need to have:
- Exceptional phone manner and active listening skills
- A significant track record of successful sales and selling value to clients
- An in-depth knowledge of the tender process within the utilities sector (gas, water, power, sewer, councils etc.)
- Proven experience in a similar role (minimum 2 years)
- Great attention to detail and action oriented
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Proficiency in using CRM software (ideally with Zoho) and Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude, reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
- Have excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Competitive nature with strong multi-tasking and self-management skills
- Degree in business, engineering, project management or similar (preferred)
