Business Development Executive (Bde)

Bass Strait Transport is a family-owned business that is part of the De Bruyn Holdings Group. Acquired in May 2019 by De Bruyn's Transport, Bass Strait Transport have grown to become a leading logistics provider in the Trans Bass market, supported by the largest privately-owned transport company in Tasmania.

As part of our continuing growth plans, we are currently seeking a Sales Executive to join our sales team based in Altona North.  Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Sales Executive will be responsible for sourcing new customers across the Melbourne metropolitan area who regularly send freight into Tasmania.

The Role:

As Sales Executive, you will:

• Research, identify and develop new business opportunities through various cold calling channels
• Attend customer meetings as a representative of the business
• Prepare sales proposals and pricing submissions
• Manage an effective pipeline of prospective customers
• Establish, develop and manage customer relationships
• Meeting and exceed set budget and KPI’s
• Implement rate reviews and increases
• Work closely with all teams and areas of the business

Experience:

To be considered for this role you will need to have a background in a similar sales role and possess the following experience and skills;

• Interstate transport sales experience is essential 
• A proven self-starter who can work autonomously
• Highly organised and with strong attention to detail
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word 
• Strong negotiation and communication skills 
• Professional appearance and attitude

The position is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days in the office, and the remaining time working remotely in the field.
