Job description

BTP is looking for a Business Development Manager based at our Head office in Hazelmere.  Do you have proven experience with identifying opportunities and growing key accounts including excellent customer support and a strong desire to achieve outcomes? Supporting Perenti’s Mining Services division, the successful individual will have a great head start through the allocation of a portfolio of quality, high profile existing customers to develop while also being responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and negotiating deals that drive revenue growth for the BTP Parts, Service and Equipment Rental businesses. This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager of Mining Services. 

There will be a particular focus on developing and implementing strategies to expand BTP’s customer base and market share. Your previous experience in mobile mining equipment in contract mining, plant maintenance or with an OEM would be highly regarded. 

  Key Responsibilities  

  • Technical, commercial or sales background in mobile mining equipment 

  • Proven strong existing relationships with mining clients.  

  • Able to identify new business opportunities to expand BTP’s customer base and market share.  

  • Conducting market research, analysing industry trends, and identifying potential clients.  

  • Promote and contribute to a positive Health, Safety and Environment culture  

  • Develop customised proposals and negotiate deals that meet the client's requirements.  

  • Develop and implementing business strategies to expand the customer base and revenue. 

  • Effectively communicate and nurture existing customers.  

  • Preparing proposals, negotiating terms, and closing deals in line with the departments DOA.  

  • Ensure that BTP's business strategies are aligned with its overall goals.  

  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and report on sales budget for the region. 

  • Maintain sales pipeline forecasts and achieve sales and profit budgets. 

  • Forecast estimates for the current month, quarter, and budgeting period.  

  • Report on key competitor activity.  

About You  

  •  5 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining and heavy mobile equipment industry. 

  • Business development or sales management background a must. 

  • Excellent industry knowledge and contacts.  

  • Ability to travel regularly.   

  • Experience using Salesforce or equivalent CRM.  

  • Demonstrated capability in responding to tenders and developing sales proposals.  

  • Proactive, highly motivated with a collaborative team-orientated mindset.  

  • Effective time management.  

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; Advanced Word skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.  

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise with excellent time management skills.  

  • Professional discretion plus excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Hard working, self- motivated with good decision making.
