As our Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the sustainability and future of our over 120-year-old club. Armed with exceptional communication skills, you'll connect with potential sponsors, community partners and members. Your strategic brilliance will shape growth strategies and expand our key partnerships.
Requirements of the Position:
The Business Development Manager must have an elevated level of demonstrated expertise including, but not limited to,
- Actively manage and nurture existing relationships through proactive engagement, utilising phone and face-to-face communication.
- Promote our club by enhancing awareness of what we do, our commitment to the community, and our dedication to meeting those needs promptly and effectively.
- Acquire new sponsors, members and clients by collaborating with the broader business, maintaining industry networking, and engaging with customers and prospects through ongoing face-to-face and phone contact.
- Identify new commercial opportunities and manage the process end-to-end in collaboration with relevant colleagues
You will also be the key driver in instilling a strong club culture that strives for individual growth, team success and a strong presence within the West Australian Football League.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your role as Business Development Manager will include but is not limited to the following areas
Sponsorship
- Account Management of partners and suppliers
- Sponsorship operations ensuring all sponsorship deliverables and assets are installed, maintained and actioned.
- Sponsorship communication
Event Management
- Coordinate invitations, RSVP’s
- Book venues, communicate with suppliers.
- Manage event calendar.
- Coordinate raffles, auctions etc.
Game Day Operations
- Set up
- Ensure sponsorships assets are up.
- Match Day partnerships
- Speech writing
- Commercialise activations and digital assets.
- Complete gate reporting
- Game day raffle
Business Development
- Identify growth opportunities.
- Market research – other clubs/codes
- Community engagement

- Sporting schools
