Established over 30 years ago, the Company is a successful manufacturer of high-quality polyethylene products to the Agriculture, Resources and Construction industries, with headquarters in Dalwallinu, WA and offices across the region. It has experienced exponential success since inception, with both organic and acquisitive growth, and is now embarking on an exciting new phase in the company’s history. As such, it is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to help drive growth in the Resources sector.
Scope of Duties:
The role is responsible for the development of new and existing business with clients in the resources industry, and other industries as deemed appropriate, predominantly across WA/NT.
You will report to the Sales Manager – Resources, and be part of a growing team, however will be expected to take initiative and work independently at times. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Cultivate a detailed understanding of a business’ products and value proposition, local and international industry trends
- Develop growth strategies in consultation with management support
- Cultivate relationships new and existing clients and other stakeholders
- Increase the client base through attending networking events, researching prospects, cold-calling potential customers, and following up on incoming leads
- Collaborate with sales and design teams to ensure Business Development strategies are executed
- Negotiate, draft and review contracts
- Conduct market and project research with the assistance of online project databases to identify new business opportunities
- Arrange and carry out discovery meetings with prospective clients
Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
- Proven sales / Business Development skills and experience
- Resources industry – Mining and / or Oil & Gas - knowledge and experience
- Well-developed negotiating skills
- Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and ability to think outside the box
- A “can do” attitude with the ability to take initiative
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and SharePoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Ability to work effectively in a high pressure fast paced office
- Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new and diverse tasks
