- Determining methods of construction on projects and selecting materials for construction and ensuring construction quality standards;
- Drafting and interpreting construction specifications, including producing drawings, plans, methods of construction and procedural methods;
- Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications;
- Preparing, editing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings;
- Design and construct piling and shoring structures including Foundation Piles, Shoring Piles, Contiguous Piles and Anchors, Capping Beams, Whalers and Shotcrete Walls;
- Organising and directing site labour, including delivery of construction materials and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities;
- Conducting construction site inspections, including quality assessments;
- Analysing architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as means of assisting in budgetary control;
- Monitoring changes to construction designs, determining their effects on cost estimates and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs;
- Analysing and assessing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads;
- Detailing design for earthworks;
- Working on defects and sign offs;
- Conducting quality assurance, HSE and Environmental;
- Working with construction safety teams to ensure safe work site;
- Inspect civil structures such as Footings, Lift Pits, OSD Tanks, Piles and other in-ground structures, to ensure construction to specifications prior to concrete installation. Undertaking as a minimum, the following material submissions, testing and inspections:
- Submission and approval of grout mix design for anchors;
- Submission and approval of concrete mix designs;
- Inspection of drilled pile;
- Inspection of constructed pile;
- Inspection of first shotcrete panel for suitability.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Minimum two years of demonstrated operational experience in civil projects;
- Proficiency in the English language;
- Excellent communication – both written and verbal;
- Strong understanding of workplace OHS procedures;
- Demonstrated competency in risk management for supervisors.
