The role of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is a new and exciting role. Working with the Executive team in WA and our NSW operations, identifying key areas within our existing operations to improve and grow the business. This includes strategic integration of our Aquaculture, Seafood, Retail, and Tourism sectors, incorporating pearl and oyster farm operations, land and marine-based tourism, pearl and jewellery retail, special events, and pop-up retail stores.
We want someone who can champion tourism collaboration and Business Development opportunities in all areas. It will involve compliance work in relation to regulations, internal policies, and human resource management, and will require strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and business insight to drive growth, innovation, and sustainable success within the organisation. You will be required to work within day-to-day operations, establishing efficiencies together with our heads of department.
You would be located at our Shellar Door, Mooney Mooney – Central Coast, and our other farm and retail locations on the Central Coast and Sydney.
Pearls of Australia has a strong environmental focus, and the BDM will also help ensure that the farms' activities operate in an environmentally responsible and ethical way.
You will be an ambassador for Broken Bay Pearl Farm and Pearls of Australia, representing the brands with integrity and passion.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Team, you will be responsible for leading the team in the below key areas:
- Working with the Exec team to develop and implement growth strategies and plans
- Promote revenue growth across pearl & jewellery retail, tourism and seafood
- Working closely with the NSW teams
- Human resource management
- Compliance management
- Regular reporting and analysis
- Assist with grant writing and various applications
- Maintaining and growing relationships with key stakeholders
- Explore new opportunities and partnerships
