Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer two days a week, to join our team and spearhead efforts to increase membership for the Melville Cockburn Chamber of Commerce. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to attract new members, engage existing members, and drive overall growth for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to increase membership for MCCC, focusing on acquiring new members and retaining existing ones.
- Identify and target potential member businesses through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building efforts.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and promotional materials to showcase the benefits of MCCC membership.
- Attend networking events, industry conferences, and business meetings to represent MCCC and promote membership opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current members, providing exceptional customer service and addressing their needs and concerns.
- Track and analyse membership metrics and performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of membership strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar marketing, or minimum 2 years experience in a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in Business Development, sales, or membership management, with a track record of achieving targets and driving growth.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and goal achievement.
