Established in 2005, Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) represents Ngarluma peoples Native Title rights. It has grown into one of the largest Aboriginal organisations in the Pilbara region of WA. NAC is the signatory of multiple Land Use Agreements with Rio Tinto and Woodside NAC promotes cultural heritage, sustainability, economic development and social empowerment for the benefit of the Ngarluma Traditional Owners.

About the Role
The role will be providing comprehensive business support, establishing networks with third part professionals, business planning, , facilitating training, maintaining awareness of business grants and fostering local business networking for development and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Provision of business mentoring and providing support for start-up and established small and micro businesses
- Providing mentoring individually or in groups, face to face, via telephone or online.
- Working with Ngarluma enterprises to conduct business feasibility testing, planning and advice on purchasing a new business.
- Working with established business and how to improve things through business planning including marketing and financial analysis.
- Creating a Ngarluma business unit comprising of experienced Ngarluma business owners extending invitations to key stakeholders.
- Providing current business literature and publications on tax topics and federal, state, and local legislation that impact business.
- Facilitate training on various topics such as starting a business, financial management, marketing, human resources, leadership, business compliance and social media.
- Establishing a network of third-party professionals and Business Development agencies for additional mentoring and advice.
- Maintaining understanding and links to business support grants.
- Encouraging local businesses to network, share experiences and develop strategic alliances and establish local community liaisons.
Key Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience in related field.
- Demonstrated achievement in successful Business Development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a strong understanding of facilitating individual development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and industry-specific analysis software.
- Basic understanding of the current Pilbara markets and industry development, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job.
- Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment-based solutions for clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to facilitate business networks and events.
- National police clearance (not older than six months).
Desirable:
- Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal people and communities.
- An understanding of Social Enterprise development (Ranger programmes, Rehabilitation projects etc).
