Your Part in our UnitingCare team:

The Business Improvement Partner purpose is to partner with the business units and functions to drive improvement opportunities - to make it easier to get work done, create a financially efficient business, deliver sustainable processes and embed continuous improvement practices. 

You will focus on:    

  •  Undertake stakeholder analysis as part of team to understand key contacts and agree relationship management approach for senior leadership team members
  • Develop good relationships with senior leadership team members as per relationship management approach, to understand their challenges, potential areas for support and develop trust through demonstrating expertise / value add of Business Improvement services 
  • Identify potential future work through stakeholder engagement, use of data and benchmarking views and funnel opportunities into backlog to prioritise and cultivate 
  • Help promote and build Business Improvement brand / impact across business
  • Engage your customers across every level of the business in the benefits Business Improvement and partnerships can deliver
  • Scope tight pieces of work (the “pitch”) required to deliver Business Improvement outcomes, utilising team and subject matter expertise, to develop compelling proposals for work to be undertaken in partnership with business units / functions
  • Utilise (seek out opportunities to learn and apply) Business Improvement tools and methods with teams to interrogate current state processes, identify opportunities and design / deliver future state processes (tools including Six Sigma, Lean, Business Process Management (BPM), data analysis, benchmarking, human centred design, project management, human resource management, change management, innovation management etc)
  • Utilise an adaptive approach to each Business Improvement opportunity, including being able to lead, manage or add value in a sprint or waterfall methodology, and take a “fail fast” approach
  • Lead and facilitate workshops, including value stream mapping, opportunities and planning workshops 
  • Undertake or interpret complex analysis to identify insights and make actionable recommendations to improve business performance
  • Develop compelling deliverables and reporting material “at the right level” to share with senior leaders and drive decisions / deliver outcomes in proposal
  • Lead / manage / contribute to delivery of tight pieces of proposed scope with areas of the business 
  • Build trust with individuals across levels in area of business partnering with, focusing on making them / their team successful and delivering great outcomes
  • Understand, reinforce and promote enterprise standards for process / service catalogue / knowledge management to help build future capability
  • Undertake business / continuous improvement capability uplift with identified areas of the business 
  • Lead and facilitate retro/PIR/closure/feedback/close-out/handover activities to drive excellence in outcomes and learning from experience

What makes a difference for us: 

The successful candidate will ideally present with: 

  •  Tertiary qualification or relevant experience 
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced outcomes focused delivery environment, ideally in a similar role
  • Highly skilled in Business Improvement
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in successfully influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes. 
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement capability ideally at an executive and leadership level, with the ability to build and develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Sound experience in successfully delivering Business Improvement
  • Strong customer-focused attitude, commitment to actively display organisational values, and contribute to team goals. 
  • Data skills & Data analysis – Lean six-sigma
  • Experience in customer focused consultancy service (internal or external).
