The Opportunity:
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll be working with internal business stakeholders to understand their requirements and generate meaningful insights through visualisations and reporting.
Part of a center-of-excellence styled team, you will work with experienced analysts and senior operational staff. Personal growth and development, and the sharing of knowledge, is strongly encouraged. Your role will have full visibility of most dashboards and reporting tools created throughout the business.
The role will also involve data modelling, maintaining/enhancing existing dashboards, and advising/training other analysts within the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analytics Solution Delivery
- Develop and publish reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
- Through data analysis, provide stakeholders with insights for decision making
- Proactively reviewing reporting, analytics, and dashboards to identify improvement and rationalisation opportunities to increase usage and reduce wasted effort
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders by providing quality insights and engagement
- Providing guidance, support, and training to analytics teams, fostering skill development, and facilitating collaboration to drive effective data-driven decision-making
- Working closely with all parts of the business to help define their decision, process, and insight requirements, and championing the use of data and analytics within decision making
Process and Governance
- Maintain and further develop the data and reporting governance framework for the business
- Ensure data integrity within reports and dashboards by reviewing data, identifying and resolving gaps and inconsistencies, and escalating as required
- Promoting standardised analysis across Transgrid to actively reduce duplication of effort and increase collaboration across analyst community in Transgrid
Additional Duties and Information
- The position is required to carry out any additional duties or projects allocated to the group
- Travel to other Transgrid locations may be required at various times
About you
- 5+ years analyst experience
- 2+ years in a BI-related role (dashboard development)
- Advanced PowerBI
- Strong technical skills in: SQL, Dax, M-query
- Experience working with large data sets, data manipulation and presentation of key visualisations into a form easily understood by others
- Strong data transformation skills, with a proven experience performing data cleaning exercises
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with and manage a range of stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve deadlines and desired outcomes
- Ability to work independently, being organized and self-motivated
- Current Drivers License
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Analytics, Business, Systems, Engineering or in a related discipline
- Knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure and Electricity Networks
- Experience with Oracle/Hyperion ERP & EPM, Maximo, SAP Workforce (Payroll/HR), P6
