About the Role:
Skillfield is on the lookout for a Business Intelligence / Data Analyst, specialising in Power BI, to join our dynamic team of reporting analysts. This unique position not only demands expertise in data analysis and Business Intelligence but also a passion for mentoring and upskilling teammates in Power BI. Initially, you will work for a client currently utilising Tableau but planning to transition to Power BI. Your dual expertise in both platforms will be crucial in ensuring a smooth transition and continued excellence in reporting and analytics.
Location: Melbourne CBD (Hybrid Role)
- Work onsite with the client for at least 5 days per fortnight.
- Spend 1 day per week in our office, with flexibility for remote work.
Your Role:
- Act as a mentor within the team, guiding and training colleagues in Power BI while maintaining proficiency in Tableau.
- Engage closely with business stakeholders to grasp their needs and deliver bespoke data-driven recommendations.
- Analyse complex data sets, work alongside data engineers to develop new data sources, and transform data using tools like Alteryx/Tableau Prep/Powerapps.
- Create and present insightful reports using Tableau and Power BI, facilitating business decisions and strategies.
Who You Are:
- A seasoned professional in data visualisation and reporting, with a strong foundation in Power BI and Tableau (minimum 3 years of experience preferred).
- Experienced with data preparation and wrangling tools such as Alteryx or Tableau Prep.
- Proficient in analysing data from various sources, with a knack for uncovering actionable insights.
- SQL queries
- Python coding skills or similar would also be highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex data into clear, understandable insights.
- Autonomous and driven, passionate about Data, can work independently and also in a large team within enterprise level clients.
