ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to an entrepreneurial and highly influential Group Financial Controller, this Senior Financial Accountant will support the delivery of major finance objectives as the organisation aims to continue its aggressive growth journey. Working closely with an impressive leadership team, you will be instrumental in working cross functionally with the business. This role will be critical in ensuring the company employs robust operational, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and delivers accurate and comprehensive reports and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.

This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ whilst implementing best practice processes and procedures throughout the finance function. You will act as the “confidant” and “right hand person” to the Group Financial Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with senior management, your key responsibilities as the Senior Financial Accountant will include:
- Monthly close and compliance with statutory reporting in line with ASX reporting requirements.
- Consolidation of the group financial results and preparation and oversight of inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
- Support external audit and review process and global financial compliance submissions for designated entities including preparation of notes to financial statements and preparing information required by the auditors.
- Direct and indirect tax compliance and supporting the compliance and implementation of company-wide tax governance.
- Correct and effective maintenance of the financial accounting and general ledger systems.
- Providing technical inputs and preparation of technical papers on the impact of accounting standards as they apply to the group.
- Management of inter-company loans and transfer pricing margins for the group;
- Effective maintenance of financial controls and processes and identify opportunities to innovative or improve processes across the finance function.
- Ensure that use of the ERP system is optimised to support efficient financial processes and maintenance of appropriate internal controls including ensuring the security of financial systems and integrity of audit trails.
- Identify and implement process and systems improvements within the financial accounting and transactional processing functions to improve quality of financial control and reporting.
- Support financial risk management including hedging programs and working capital management for designated entities in the Group.
- Provide financial advice and support to key business leaders to effectively and efficiently manage business operations and performance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
You are CA/CPA qualified and possess strong technical knowledge and understanding of current accounting standards (IFRS and AASB) and tax reporting obligations. Experience gained within a Big 4 Chartered Accounting firm or ASX listed multinational companies is highly advantageous.
In addition, you will have:
- Exposure to a large ERP system preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
- Ability to understand the financial accounting process and how data flows in the system.
- Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of key stakeholders.
- A positive attitude with the hunger to achieve great results.
- Resilience and the ability to bounce back under pressure.
- A team focus with the ability to handle tasks in a timely manner with the quality expected in a large business environment.
