The Wallace Bishop Group is a family-owned jewellery and time piece retailer with a national presence that has been trading for over 100 years. The Group is made up of two retail brands plus a service and manufacturing workshop.
We are seeking a Business Partner/Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team based in our conveniently located Newstead head office.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Undertaking the month end accounting and reporting process, including the development of complex journals, review/analysis of financial results and other month end activities
- Preparation and distribution of daily reports
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Preparation and oversight of asset registers, asset capitalisations and policies
- Understand, investigate, provide commentary and resolve variances as identified from reports
- Contribute to budget and forecast processes
- Preparation of short term cash flows for Manager review before submission
- Assistance with compliance reporting such as BAS, FBT, income tax returns
- Preparing journals
- Assisting with external audits
- Involvement in projects such as system implementations
- Identification and support for process automation and process improvements
- Liaise with internal stakeholders on financial outcomes
- Mentoring across the Finance Team
- Actively participate in and contribute to team meetings
To succeed in this role you will require:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- CPA or CA (or working towards achieving)
- 4+ years prior experience in a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to maintain and create models
- Ability to effectively manage large data sets and translate into meaningful outputs
- High attention to detail to maintain our high standard of accuracy and integrity
- Experience with Dynamics 365 desirable but not essential
- Experience with Pronto Xi desirable but not essential
- A capability to work, interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and build positive, professional relationships
