Working within the Business Services Unit, you will support the Tourism Division through the efficient delivery and coordination of correspondence, requests for information and briefs, and business and corporate issues, contributing to creating a competitive, diverse and adaptive tourism and events industry that benefits all Queenslanders. You will assist the Division including staff and senior leadership team to ensure high quality documentation is provided to the Deputy Director-General, Tourism, the Director-General, DTS and the Minister. Using your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high attention to detail and strong professional work ethic, you will:
- Assist in the preparation, management, monitoring and quality assurance of Tourism Division correspondence to ensure high quality documentation is provided and that correspondence reply timeframes are met.
- Manage and coordinate the division's input into routine Cabinet and Parliament requests for briefs and develop processes to monitor the progression of these documents.
- Consult relevant Divisional Officers to coordinate and prepare key high-level cross-divisional tasks including Contentious Issues, Regional Briefs, Governor Briefs, and other requests for information.
- Coordinate and prepare responses to Corporate and Business requests, including those related to governance and risk, across the division.
Oversee the annual Estimates briefing process.
- Proactively monitor and follow up on correspondence items to ensure deadlines are met, providing sufficient time for stakeholder consideration and amendment if required.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships, within and external to the Division, while operating in a high-pressure and high volume environment
- Effectively manage and continuously improve executive correspondence processes and procedures in consultation with stakeholders.
Prepare useful reports on correspondence performance.
- Act as a back-up in the Executive Officer to the Deputy Director-General role, as required.
- Participate as an active member of the Business Services Team by contributing ideas and supporting other team members including training new staff.
