Smart Talent is delighted to assist the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC) in searching for a Business Support Hub Coordinator. Based in Broome, this Maternity Leave Cover role will be effective to 30 June 2025 with a possibility for extension.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to Aboriginal tourism businesses, to facilitate streamlining operational procedures, and to allow capacity growth and delivery of a stronger, diverse product to the market.
This role will:-
- Assist established businesses with identifying limitations within their current administrative procedures, while identifying business capacity and highlighting potential outcomes.
- Assist new businesses in establishing effective, safe and streamlined administrative procedures.
- Implement and assist with strategies for managing the administrative workload.
- Assist in providing access to support, training and capacity-building to allow growth within the business.
- Assist members with deploying online booking systems.
- Answer enquiries from industry and trade stakeholders in conjunction with business operators participating in the Hub.
- Aid in developing future Hub services if and when the industry demands.
Administration
- Under the direction of the Membership and Business Development Manager, complete the day-to-day operations of the Business Support Hub.
- Where possible, identify gaps in operational service and develop/address them as required.
- Maintenance of the organisation's CRM system (Hubspot) and other organisational IT Tools to ensure Business Hub participant's details are up to date.
- Assist members in deploying, streamlining, or managing their booking systems.
- Provide staff training and ongoing support to build booking system capability.
- Ensure businesses are connected to appropriate tourism industry bodies and facilitate building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure all financial transactions are conducted per appropriate accounting/ethical standards, financial control, and delegated approvals.
- Prepare performance reports to meet the requirements of funding agreements.
- Maintain trusting relationships with WA Aboriginal tourism operators to support the delivery of sustainable tourism businesses.
- Maintain effective working relations with Tourism WA, Regional Tourism Organisations, Regional Development Commissions and other industry stakeholders to support WAITOC's broader product development and marketing objectives.
- Aim to resolve any business or stakeholder enquiry.
- Other related duties as required and directed by the CEO.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members of the WAITOC Business Development team and WAITOC's Marketing and Operations Departments to ensure positive outcomes for the organisation and its members.
